Overlooking the transformation of the landscape at the Climate Innovation District, we sat down to catch up with new Citu resident, Dom, who witnessed the build of his home.
“We were initially exploring other options in the city centre and Citu’s houses. I stumbled upon the showhome, expecting only houses, but to my pleasant surprise, learned about the flats being built. Captivated by the design and eco-conscious features, I made the decision on the spot.”
Coming from an architectural background, Dom’s admiration for the interiors and thoughtful design led his decision. “It was love at first sight. The Scandinavian look and the attention to detail, like the exposed ceilings, drew us in. We sought something small yet spacious for the long term, and Citu’s unique blend of industrial charm and Scandi aesthetics perfectly fit the bill.”
Living in the heart of the Climate Innovation District, Dom is establishing a new lifestyle. “Weekends include walks to the gym at Leeds Dock, coffee stops at Fearns or North Star, and occasional indulgence at Pig Love, our favorite local bar. The community spirit here is tangible, with friendly faces and even our dog, Clive, is becoming a conversation starter.”
Highlighting the benefits of their Citu home, Dom explained,
He talked about the positive impact of having the gym within walking distance, fostering a sense of community among residents.
As for the apartment’s unique features, Dom raved about the exposed ceilings, industrial elements, and the meticulous Scandinavian design.”It’s not just a place; it’s a thoughtfully curated space that stands out. The ceilings are a conversation starter for anyone who walks in”.
Taking a personal approach to space planning, Dom confessed, “I’m a nerd; I drew out floor plans and measured furniture to achieve a New York apartment style. The quirky yet subtle touches, like the red Smeg, add character. The freedom to decorate with white walls is fantastic, allowing us to create a unique and quirky home.”
